Untreated and phytoremediated marine sediment was tested to grow ornamental plants. Plants modified main chemical properties of sediments during growth. Biochemical activity was higher in phytoremediated than untreated sediments. Untreated but not phytoremediated sediments showed toxicity during plant growth.
