Hazard models with heterogeneity are investigated for subway delay duration. Effect of location, time, train type, personnel, and cause on duration is explored. Interchange stations had shorter durations; peak periods had insignificant effect. The new train type exacerbated durations. An intercom did not mitigate durations. Heterogeneity was best represented by train operator, rather than guard or vehicle.
