A lab setup to test wave energy power take-off systems is presented. The floater mass and hydrodynamic added mass are physically represented in the setup. Real-time calculation of hydrodynamic forces is introduced for realistic emulation. Equal normalized load after compensation of speed increase due to Froude scaling. Experimental floater motion correlates with simulated heave motion.
