The review details folding and misfolding of protein and its clinical implications. Neurodegenerative diseases are also and outcome of protein misfolding and aggregation. Interaction of nanoparticles with proteins alters the protein conformation and prevents protein aggregation. Currently nanoparticles are employed as artificial chaperones and for detection of protein-folding intermediates. Nanoparticles can be used in developing targeted novel treatment for fatal diseases.
