Waste ferrite@SiO2 is introduced to synthesize magnetite photocatalyst. Perovskite-like layered structured phases of Ln2Ti2O7 are formed. Ln2Ti2O7 promotes the electron-hole pair separation due to its intrinsic structure. Magnetite near-infrared photocatalyst of ETY-FCTL exhibits high photoactivity.
