Coordination polymer (CP) core/shell structures with europium-based CP as the core and lanthanum-based CP as the shell have been synthesized. CP-on-CP core-shell particles have been prepared for the first time via microwave heating method. The lanthanum-based CP shell has great effect on the fluorescence intensity of the europium-based CP core.
