Melting of PCM in a square enclosure with partially active walls is investigated.

More energy can be stored if enclosure is heated from bottom instead of side wall.

Nanoparticle-enhanced PCM (NEPCM) increases melting rate and reduces charging time.

Nanoparticle concentration beyond  = 1 vol% decelerates charging time.
