Evaluated anesthetic requirement for insomniacs and patients with no sleep problems.

Hypothesis was that insomnia has an effect on anesthetic requirement.

Mean end-tidal sevoflurane concentrations during operation were higher in the insomnia group.

Bispectral index values were similar during surgery in both groups.

Anesthetic requirement was increased in insomnia group.
