A new method based on multifractals is introduced to create synthetic soil images. The concentration-area method is used to calculate the segmentation threshold. The Singularity-CA method increases the image contrast by using singularity maps. The new method is compared with the Otsu, Iterative and max-entropy methods. The new method is able to better detect pores based on the amplification of details.
