Electrochemical polishing (ECP) is investigated for selective laser melted Inconel 718 parts. The surface quality is significantly improved after ECP (3.66 μm Ra). Attached particles on original surface can be removed after 2 min ECP. A combination of γ, δ and carbide phase can be found on ECP sample with long duration. ECP sample surfaces possess a low nano-hardness and modulus.
