Interaction of biosurfactant producing bacterium with bentonite studied. Bentonite deciphered enhanced growth of Pseudoxanthomonas kaohsiungensis. Spherical clay-bacterial micro-agglomerates formed Preferential dissolution of silicon (Si) from tetrahedral silica edges occurred. Clay's interaction with water molecules altered.
