A dataset of the sea states around Cape Verde Islands is used for wave energy resource assessment.
Using reanalysis data from ECMWF, the SWAN model was run for a 10 year period, from 2004 to 2013.
Three years of this data high resolution data were compared with available altimetric data.
Some particular areas of the Cape Verde Islands, present considerable wave energy resources.
