A facile sonochemical reaction utilizing KF-basic alumina as catalyst was proposed. The products are novel pyrano[3,4-e][1,3]oxazine derivatives. Our work clarify that sometimes ultrasound irradiation enable the reaction to occur. The reactivity is not only as a result of kinetic energy but also, cavitation. The proposed protocol utilizing dimethyl carbonate show high atom economy.
