Internet-based tools offer a universal method for monitoring public interest in conservation. Onsite metrics provide fine-scale spatiotemporal data on Internet users' behaviour. Internet tools increase sample size and widen the geographic and temporal ranges. Internet tools add reliable information to social surveys at a relatively low cost.
