The characteristics of hypersonic BFS flow in near space is fist revealed by DSMC. The length of primary recirculation region is decreased remarkably in near space. Vertical jet upstream of the step increases boundary layer thickness downstream. Horizontal jet near step edge greatly changes the primary recirculation region.
