The solid state reaction was used to obtain Li(x)Na(1−x)Sm(PO3)4 (x = 0, 0.5, 1). XRD confirmed formation of the proper phases for x = 0 and x = 1. IR and Raman spectra indicate that for x = 0.5, the compound is bi-phasic. The VUV excited luminescence is analyzed. The luminescence decays oy Sm3+ are discussed.
