The studied geothermal springs occur in a typical deep fault region where the Tibet Plateau subducts beneath the Yangtze craton. Cyclical variation of flows with solid tides is used to study the geothermal water. The study shows that the geothermal waters have deep heat sources, with heat flow being the most intensified and centered around Laoyulin in Kangding.
