Paramyosin was separated from giant squid (Dosidicus gigas) myofibrillar protein.

The separated paramyosin was purified.

CD analysis showed paramyosin molecule conformation changed with KCl concentration.

Conformation changes were reversible.

Conformation changes caused salting-in effect.
