Monoalkyldiacylglycerols (MADAG) from the squid Berryteuthis magister were analyzed for the first time. Ninety molecular species of natural MADAG were identified by HPLC with tandem high-resolution MS in APCI mode. Most MADAG molecular species contained 16:0e or 18:1e alkyl groups in the sn-1 position. Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids mainly esterified the sn-2 and sn-3 position, respectively. These structure features are characteristic for MADAG, which display the effects on human health.
