The advantages of CAGEAN-JS are that it estimates changes in total and vulnerable biomass, fishing mortality and recruitment. The CAGEAN-JS is inclusive, thus providing stakeholders with a great deal of new information useful for decision-making. The catch-at-age model was modeled as an alternative statistical method useful for stock assessment in jumbo squid fishery. A new matrix was used that included data using a time step reduced to 30 days with a fishing period expressed in months.
