Reversible surface potential changes introduced by polarization experiment with nanoprobe

Kelvin probe maps of pre-polarized area show time-dependent relaxation to initial state.

Monocrystalline and polycrystalline acceptor doped ceria samples were compared.

Relaxation behavior was found to vary with dopant (Gd/Pr) and grain/GB ratio.

Measurements were performed at room temperature under air.
