Vagus nerve stimulation drives rapid, phasic neural activity in locus coeruleus. Increasing current intensity and pulse width results in greater driven activity. Varying frequency alters the timing, but not total amount, of driven activity. Stronger stimulation drives off-target activity in the mesencephalic trigeminal nucleus.
