The nonlinear in-plane response of masonry walls strengthened with textile reinforced mortars (TRM) is numerically investigated. A smeared crack modelling approach is used for both masonry and TRM. The effect of tension softening model on the nonlinear response of TRMs is presented. The effect TRM type and vertical load level on the nonlinear response and failure mode of strengthened walls are presented. The efficiency of TRM layers on improving the seismic performance of a real historical façade is investigated.
