FBG application to SHM of offshore wind turbine support structure was successfully verified under environmental loading. The usefulness of FDD method based on strain to natural frequencies determination of the offshore structure was confirmed. The damage indexes allowed to localise damage with accuracy to the tripod’s side and can be included in unmanned SHM system.
