An integrated energy management system for energy-efficient and cleaner production is proposed for the energy-intensive SMEs. The system is based on the dynamic PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach for continuous improvement. The system integrates the individual energy-saving activities (ESAs) for systematic energy management in SMEs. The paper mill case illustrated vacuum and steam consumption optimization in a paper machines in consecutive PDCA cycles.
