Smoking is highly prevalent among adults with substance use disorders. We examined perceived barriers to smoking cessation in this population. The most common perceived barriers to quitting smoking were anxiety and irritability. Over 60% of the sample reported that it would be hard to maintain sobriety if they quit smoking. Anxiety sensitivity was associated with the number of perceived barriers to smoking cessation.
