A pp150 based IgG assay was established, with 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity, and showed comparable performance with general used assays based on virus lysate antigens. The pp150 based ELISA assay might provide a simple method to detect CMV infection or reactivation. The assay could be useful in future CMV subunit vaccine efficacy trial.
