Utilization of sugar cane waste for the production of 2G biofuels. The process models developed in this study can be of general use for any kind of lignocellulosic feedstock. A thermo-economic comparison between Fischer–Tropsch synthesis and fast pyrolysis was conducted. Simulations results suggest that the most efficient pathway is the Fischer–Tropsch synthesis.
