Growth of Cu2MnSnS4 PV absorbers by sulfurization of evaporated precursors

Cu2MnSnS4 thin films were grown for the first time by a two-step vacuum approach. Metal precursors deposited by thermal evaporation were annealed in sulfur vapors. Different precursor stack features and annealing procedures were tested. An extensive characterization of the CMTS films was reported and discussed. The best CMTS layers were successfully tested as PV absorbers in solar cells.
