Sulphate enhanced TiO2 photocatalyst is synthesized. Catalyst is capable of photocatalytic esterification of acetic acid and methanol. Upto 80% of the product yield can be obtained at ambient conditions. Mechanism for photocatalytic esterification is proposed. Photocatalyst can be efficiently reused up to 10 reaction cycles in pursuit of simultaneous activation.
