Contributions of poly(3-hexylthiophene) nanowires to alteration of vertical inhomogeneity of bulk-heterojunction active layers and improvements of light-harvesting and power-conversion efficiency of organic solar cells
Use of P3HT nanowires in inverted-type solar cells improved efficiency by 47.1%. P3HT nanowire inclusion brought changes in vertical inhomogeneity of BHJ layers. BHJ layer inhomogeneity was quantified based on effective medium approximation. FDTD simulations were used to identify and exclude parasitic absorption effects.
