MeHg induces RS production, mitochondrial and thiol status disruption in endothelial-cultured cells (BAECs). Apocynin, a NADPH oxidase inhibitor, prevents MeHg-induced oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage in cells. NADPH oxidase might be involved in MeHg-induced toxicity in BAECs.
