FTS reaction was studied by combining DFT calculations and experimental results. Fe show changes in the electronic structure when K and Cu are close on the catalyst. K ions on the SBA-15 surface increase the activity and selectivity towards olefins. The addition of Cu apparently increases the stability of the catalysts.
