A sowing method for subsurface drip irrigation that increases the emergence rate, yield, and water use efficiency in spring corn

A new subsurface drip irrigation sowing method called alternate row/bed planting (AP) was proposed. AP made a furrow and sowed the seeds below the furrow bottom. AP could provide a wetter soil environment for germination after moving the dry and loose soil near the surface. AP could shorten the distance between the seed and dripline, thus the soil water could reach up to the seed more easily. AP could increase the emergency rate, yield, water use efficiency and nitrogen partial factor productivity of spring corn.
