We demonstrate affinity adsorption of several drug-resistant pathogens from blood.

End-point attached heparin acts as a biomimetic surrogate of heparan sulfate.

MRSA, ESBL K. pneumoniae, CRE E. coli and CRE K. pneumoniae were removed.

Lack of competitive binding between CRE and MRSA suggests different binding sites.

Sorbent hemoperfusion may be an effective treatment for drug-resistant bacteremia.
