Heat transfer and friction factor correlations development for solar air heater duct artificially roughened with ‘S’ shape ribs

We had investigated artificially roughened solar air heater duct of aspect ratio 12. Circular cross section arc shaped ribs arranged in ‘S’ shape pattern were used. Significant enhancement was found in thermal performance as compared to smooth duct. Correlations were developed for heat transfer and friction factor. Correlations can predict the heat transfer and friction factor with ±10% deviation.
