Clay nanotubes loaded with Ce3 +/Zr4 + inhibitors to obtain self-healing materials Inhibitor loaded nanotube in hybrid sol-gel matrix deposited on AZ91D yields self-healing coating. Inhibitor release occurs when the coating is damaged, thereby enhancing corrosion resistance. SVET measurements confirmed self-healing effect of coating. Coatings are eco-friendly and promising for use in aerospace and automotive sectors.
