A semi-distributed energy-based framework for the analysis and visualization of power system disturbances

A data-driven energy-based tool for analysis of disturbances is proposed. A semi-distributed framework for fusing data using a multiblock structure is used. A spatial interpretation of multiblock structure using the architecture of wide area measurement systems is developed. Event location and visualization applications are developed with satisfactory results. The close relation between the problem of system observability and the ability to detect faults is highlighted.
