The stabilization time is time required to change from initial setup condition to the equilibrium conditions in the RE sides. Inert material can be used to reduce the gas region in reference compartment and make the stabilization time of RE shorter. The stabilization time of solid Fe–Fe3O4 RE was shorter than that of liquid metal Bi–Bi2O3 RE.
