This paper introduces the design and control of a PV-battery hybrid power system. Reliable and scalable operation of hybrid power systems is achieved. System and power control are performed without a centralized controller. Reliability and scalability characteristics are studied in a quantitative manner. The system control performance is verified using realistic solar irradiation data.
