Tacrolimus (FK-506) has a host of drug-drug and food-drug interactions. Turmeric has been reported in animal studies to affect tacrolimus metabolism. We present the first clinical case of a probable interaction between turmeric and tacrolimus. Simultaneous turmeric and tacrolimus use may predispose to nephrotoxicity.
