Liraglutide suppressed food intake for 2 h in db/db mice and mice depleted serotonin.

The acute anorexic effect of liragultide was attenuated in food-restricted KK mice.

Liraglutide did not affect the expression of hypothalamic POMC, CART or AgRP.

Liraglutide decreased the expression of hypothalamic orexin in mice.

The decrease in hypothalamic orexin may contribute to the acute anorexic effect of liragultide.
