A 3D constitutive model for carbon nanotube composites is proposed.
Smooth plasticity is introduced in the carbon nanotubes to mimic the stick-slip.
Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka homogenization is employed.
A finite element implementation is presented in explicit dynamic form.
Simulations show sensitivity of elastic/inelastic response to material parameters.
