From Ba3Ta5O14N to LaBa2Ta5O13N2: Decreasing the optical band gap of a photocatalyst

Synthesis of a new oxide nitride LaBa2Ta5O13N2. Refinement of the crystal structure. Quantum chemical calculations provided band gap close to the measured value. New phase shows a higher photocatalytic H2 evolution rate compared to prior tested Ba3Ta5O14N.
