Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide levels were increased by ketoconazole. The ROS producer enzymes induced and participated in the formation of ROS. The main antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase and catalase were also induced. The response of an antioxidant system wasn’t sufficient to reduce lipid peroxidation.
