Dual-phase coupled La(Fe,Si)13 crystal was obtained using the modified high-pressure zone-melting technique.

Aligned α(Fe) phase homogeneously distributed in the La(Fe,Si)13 matrix.

It opens perspective to improve the brittleness by controlling the α(Fe) phase.

The crystal demonstrated a magnetic refrigeration capacity as high as 162 J/kg.
