The effects of mirror tilting on the silicon molten zone were studied.

The shapes of the solid–liquid interface were affected by mirror tilting.

The stability of the molten zone was enhanced in the 10° tilted conditions.

A silicon crystal of 45 mmϕ was successfully grown in the tilted condition.
