A new technique was proposed for accelerating a single droplet to obtain extremely high impact velocities.

An air flow delivery system was designed to provide uni-directional high velocity internal flow that propels and accelerates the droplet.

The method enhanced the droplet impact We number by more than 50% above the highest previously reported impact We number in the literature.
