PV neurons and PNNs were increased in a region-specific manner in the PFC during postnatal development. In the PFC, the expression of PV proteins in the interneurons is much lower. In the PFC, the PV neuron density is much lower. In the PFC, PNNs are not typical lattice-like structures. In the PFC, the components of PNNs do not include major lecticans and tenascin-R.
