Two peptides (LP & SP) with antimicrobial activity against Gram negative bacteria were obtained. A six repeating fusion of SP to SSL led to significantly enhanced antimicrobial activities. 6SP-SSL may kill bacteria by enhancing membrane penetrability and causing programmed cell death.
